68 foreign citizens found hiding in 24 hours

At the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, Arad county, two Romanian citizens, driving a truck and a van, both registered in Romania. According to the documents accompanying the goods, the drivers were transporting metal pipes and sanitary installations for commercial companies in the Netherlands and France.

Based on the risk analysis, the border police carried out a thorough control of the means of transport. Thus, a total of 50 foreign citizens were discovered hidden in the cargo compartment.

The persons were picked up and transported to the headquarters of the sector for investigations, where, following the checks, our colleagues established that they are citizens of Bangladesh and Nepal, who entered Romania legally on the basis of personal documents.

In another case also registered at the Nădlac II Border Crossing Point, a Romanian citizen presented himself at the border control on the way out of the country, driving a car registered in Romania. Following the check, five people were discovered on the back seat, respectively in the trunk of the car. After driving them to the headquarters of the sector and carrying out checks, it was established that they are citizens of Sri Lanka, legally entered Romania.

Also, at the Salonta Border Crossing Point, our colleagues carried out a thorough check on a van registered in Romania, driven by a German citizen. Following the check, thirteen foreign nationals were discovered in a special compartment in the cargo compartment. During the investigations, the border police established the fact that the persons in question are citizens of Bangladesh, Pakistan and India, who entered Romania on the basis of personal documents.
