Bulgarian border officers detained members of an organized criminal group engaged in the acquisition, possession and distribution of narcotics

A specialized police operation was conducted on the territory of Varna. The actions were carried out on July 8 of this year. by GDBOP employees and their colleagues from Varna. 

Within the scope of the operation, six participants in an organized criminal group, engaged in the acquisition, possession and distribution of narcotic substances, were detained. It was established that the detainees – two women aged 27 and 35, and four men – aged 43, 46, 44 and 18, performed various functions in carrying out the criminal activity under investigation. 

As a result of an investigation, two of the group were caught at the time of a drug deal between them in a car on a street in Varna. During the search of the vehicle, 10 g of a narcotic substance – amphetamine – were found in it. The remaining four of their accomplices were detained in different areas of the regional city. In the course of the actions, a “depot” was discovered, where large quantities of narcotic substances and cash were stored. 

Searches were carried out at a total of nine addresses on the territory of Varna and three cars, from which 11 kg of dry herbaceous mass were seized – marijuana, 2.4 kg of cocaine, 440 g of methamphetamine, 1 kg of amphetamine and 16 tablets of ecstasy. Ammunition, mobile phones, electronic scales, etc. were also seized. items and objects related to the criminal activity of the group. 4 kg of cocaine, 440 g of methamphetamine, 1 kg of amphetamine and 16 tablets of ecstasy.

 Actions on the investigation were carried out under conditions of urgency. Three of the persons have been brought as defendants. Two were detained by decree of the supervising prosecutor for a period of 72 hours, and the third was placed on “cash bail.”
